Paolo Metaldi

Paolo Metaldi
After a year at the Faculty of Architecture at Milan Polytechnic, in 2006 he graduated from the European Institute of Design in Milan. The bond with the territory and the attention to artisan activities are characteristics of his training. A great admirer of Achille Castiglioni's design irony, he works on the potential of shapes and materials to give them a new life and he strongly believes in the attractive value of an object: a good product must be observed even if it is released from its function. His interests focus on product design and illustration, which he has recently discovered and which allows him to express a more intimate and poetic side. Awarded in national and international competitions, in 2015 he won the Compasso d'Oro and in 2017 the Good Design Award. Freelance designer based in Milan. He is currently in charge of the design studio for the Excélsa and Viceversa brands, where he mainly deals with the world related to the home, from the kitchen to textiles, a sector where you can create small “table architectures” and build your own ideal city.
